Montello Military Memory

It’s one of the biggest ossuaries collecting the remains of the soldiers that died in the First World War. It was built in 1935 in the Eastern village of Colesel de Zorzi, Nervesa della Battaglia municipality.

The lower part, consisting of 3 floors, contains the remains of 9.235 soldiers, while from the tower you can admire the landscape that was at the centre of the fighting. Moreover, inside the Memorial we can visit a chapel and a small museum with battle exhibits.

From the square, following a path you can reach a monument dedicated to Francesco Baracca, the famous Italian Air Force pilot who crashed here.
